Vera is obviously one of, if not the queen of bridal, but this season her fairy princess inspired gowns are beyond worthy of royalty. This was one of my favorite collections of the week...you could hear gasps of amazement in the crowd! True fantasy, regal, feminine beauty. Can't wait for her giant new LA salon to open next year so us So Cal girls can get back to shopping! This past week Get Married was at NYC Bridal Market to catch the latest and greatest trends from all of the hottest bridal designers and we were lucky enough to tag along to see all the amazing gowns up close and personal. Up first in our photo recap is the incredibly talented Jenny Packham. Her gowns are always so glamorous - the beading, the bling, a favorite of ours for sure! This season she brought in gold antique accents...new trend for 2009?

We had such a great time at the Wedding Salon in Beverly Hills a couple of weeks ago and saw some great new ideas to share with you.

Once you have created the perfect day, why not preserve that memory with Kelly Kiefer Masterpiece? Kelly's custom-made masterpieces include elements of the wedding to capture the spirit and beauty of a once-in-a-lifetime wedding celebration. A few days ago we went to the Wedding Salon event at the Beverly Hills Hotel and scoped out some new emerging floral trends. Take a look at what hot So Cal pros created. It seems as though the next big thing is big, over-the-top, jewel-toned centerpieces. Tall and full on top, the hanging accents really enhance the pieces.

What will they think of next? The iPhone now counts down your "I DO's." This new application allows you to be a bit more obsessed with your date. Now every time someone asks how long it is until the big day you can have an exact answer! Simply enter in your wedding date and time and let the countdown begin. The Bridal Bar Los Angeles and several of their fabulous vendors got to take part in an episode of a new sitcom coming to NBC this Fall. Kath & Kim is an Aussie comedy that's coming to the US starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair. The show will air after The Office on Thursday nights starting October 9th so be sure to tune in! They were asked to consult on the show as a main topic throughout the first season is a wedding. We can't say much more than that just yet, but check out what you will see from The Bridal Bar in the second episode...and stay tuned to the show and our blog for all the fun bridal surprises!

Mediterranean Fantasy

Indulge Flowers shared some great images from a recent garden wedding that are sure to capture your imagination.

We are loving the mango taffeta linens from our friends at Wildflower Linens! This wedding had a decidedly Mediterranean feel and featured sunset colors of oranges and pink. We also love how they used a mix of square and rectangular tables and some creative lighting from San Diego Stage & Lighting to add some visual interest without a tremendous budget impact.

La Jolla DJ's rocked the house with some great tunes and Modern 8 Films did a fantastic "love story" pre-film and also shot the whole day.

If you love the cake - look no further than Just Fabulous Pastries who really did a "Just Fab" cake!

Garrett of Garrett Photography was kind enough to share some great photos from a recent wedding at IVY Hotel. Chassie and Steve have a great sense of adventure and style and it really comes through in the photos.

Garrett not only captured the vibe and attitude of this couple he maximized the atmosphere of the venue as well. IVY Hotel is a great spot for a couple who appreciates an urban vibe in the lap of luxury.  Whether you have 50 or 250, they have a spot for you. (and their banquet tables are ovals, a little something different we like!)

Chassie and Steve definitely proved that every wedding should be a reflection of the personality of the couple. It's all about breaking the rules if necessary and making up your own! By the way, they walked down the aisle to Radiohead! Mendelssohn who?!?  If you haven't had an opportunity to see Garrett's work, check out his website and see more cool couples that reaped the benefit of Garrett's amazing eye.

We are so excited for our friends Amy & Maurice Wright of Theorie, whose work is featured on this month's issue of Ceremony Magazine. If you haven't checked out their work and their very cool new website you need to take a look. In addition to seeing their amazing photos, you'll learn that Maurice loves metal music, zombie movies and vanilla bean frappuccinos. Amy once spent the summer in a tent in Uganda, loves quilting and can communicate with Orangutans.
And of course it will be obvious that there photography is truly "art that thinks."
